An exciting new role for an Operational Business Strategist to join the growing Finance team at the Head Office of an association of Christian Educational Learning Communities. This Not-For-Profit entity is part of a larger national network of community services. Their exceptional team is passionate about the innovative delivery and transformation of business operations to over 40 educational entities. The Head Office is located within close proximity of the Adelaide CBD, with free on-site parking.

The successful candidate will demonstrate proven experience in business and financial operation management within complex business environments, and specialty experience in finance, policy, and analytics. An investigative aptitude to evaluate businesses and recommend improvement initiatives and strategies.
A strategic leader who drives collaboration, and innovation. An excellent communicator who is able to coach, and mentor business leaders within the SA, NT, and WA Learning Communities, consisting of Colleges, Schools, Early Learning, and Child-care Centres. Astute in advice and support on operational management and change management challenges.
A strong background in Finance, Policy, and Analytics is essential. Knowledge of financial management principles, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis. Implement risk management strategies, write policies and procedures, and conduct analytics with data visualisation tools and analytics platforms to deliver data insight information.
With diversified responsibilities, the Strategist is a flexible leader who reports and supports the associated learning communities. Although a non-executive role in this growing Head Office, your executive management knowledge will be drawn on and you will further grow and be rewarded with an executive remuneration package. Other additional knowledge in Human Resources, Line Management, ICT, Capital Works projects, Marketing, and WH&S would be valued. There are opportunities to grow into these if you do not have all the additional knowledge.
As part of a large 'no-for-profit' network of learning communities, there are excellent benefits with work/life balance, an attractive executive remuneration package, accrued long service leave and sick leave benefits are transferable to other positions within this Christian network of learning communities, 5 weeks annual leave, travel reimbursement, plus professional development opportunities up to 4% of the annual cash salary is allocated annually.
- Assist and support the Business Director at Head Office to deliver strategic leadership, coaching, mentoring, and support of business leaders of associated learning communities.
- Review, and analyse complex financial data and provide actionable recommendations to improve financial performance.
- Minimise risk management through effective strategies, monitoring, and reviewing.
- Collaborate with different stakeholder groups to ensure the effective implementation of business strategies.
- Manage simultaneous projects and formulate process improvement methodologies.
- Conduct research and analysis on market trends, competition, and industry best practices to identify new business opportunities for Head Office and associated Learning Communities.
- Communicate with stakeholders to provide updates on progress, challenges, and opportunities.
- Ensure that all activities are in line with the strategic intentions of Head Office.
- Some after-hours meetings are expected, with some reimbursable travels expected with your own vehicle.
This is a 5-year contract employment role with the potential for further renewal. Since this is a new role, the above responsibilities are likely to change to the capabilities and potential of the Strategist, and will also need to meet the emerging needs of the associated Learning Communities and any education industry changes.
Ideally a CA/CPA candidate with proven, minimum 5 years of strategic business operational management experience within the education, commercial, or not-for-profit sectors. Additional business, accounting, commerce, or legal qualifications will be highly regarded.
It is expected that the candidate is technically computer savvy, and has excellent MS Word and Excel skills, online communication tools, and good ICT knowledge.
