Due to growth, this is a newly created role for an Executive Assistant (EA) to the Principal and the School Board, of a well-connected medium size Christian School that is an independent School but also an associated member of a national network of services.

The unified team of 65 staff, understands the importance of education in the life of every child, from pre-primary Early Learning through to Primary education. The Executive Assistant has responsibility for the efficient and harmonious operation of the Principal’s office and the affairs that relate to the Office including the School Board. In exercising this responsibility, the Executive Assistant will be guided by the School’s Improvement Plan and Strategic Directions and will consult with the School Board members, Directors, and others in positions of responsibility, reporting to the Principal to build effective and responsive solutions to the initiatives and challenges at hand.
The Executive Assistant (EA) also delivers outstanding executive and secretarial administrative support to the Principal and the School Board. Intuitive support to a dynamic Principal, includes high level initiative thinking in ensuring professional delivery of high-quality services to support the School’s vision, culture, ethos, and plan. At all times, the EA works efficiently as the ‘gateway’ and ‘gatekeeper’ service to ensure access of the Principal’s time and office is appropriate. This includes the fore-planning, follow-up, coordination and schedules of the Principal’s calendar, meetings, and travel arrangements. The discretion to work confidentially on sensitive or confidential matters.
As a model representation of the Principal and the School’s dynamic values and culture, the ability to ‘think on one’s feet’ for continuous improvements, embracing teamwork and an environment of collaboration. Also, the proficient delivery of a broad range of projects and research in the areas of strategy, marketing, and community relationships. A high competency in communication skills, both verbally and in writing, and in particular to draft and disseminate correspondence and highlight key points and solutions within documents.
Also, provide comprehensive reporting and communication between the Principal and Business Director with the Chair and members of the School Board, Directors and other staff and key stakeholders. The collaborative connection with teams and constituencies or the ability to work autonomously to meet specific deadlines. The interpersonal relationship skills to foster united teams with non-teaching and teaching personnel, and warmly welcome School Visitors. Some after-hours work will be required.
The School is located 30 minutes in driving distance from the Adelaide CBD.
If you have demonstrable experience as an Executive Assistant and have Full Covid-19 vaccination status and love working in an innovative team environment, this is your window of opportunity.
You would naturally be a proficient touch typist, with an intermediate to advanced level of computer skills in Microsoft Office 365 (MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and SharePoint), and online communication tools. Applicants with proven results in Executive Assistant roles are encouraged to apply. Tertiary or VET qualifications in business administration or equivalent are preferred.
