Compliance Officer
Permanent Part-time 3 days per week (with optional opportunity for full-time)
A great opportunity has arisen for a permanent part-time Compliance Officer to join this growing, private Christian Primary School at Mt Barker. Mt Barker is a growing community in South Australia and with the freeway, it is easy to commute to work.
Our client seeks an interpersonal professional with business operations compliance management experience. This individual will have a great attitude, integrity, good interpersonal skills, excellent communications skills, highly organised, critical thinking ability, effective problem-solving skills, capable in assessment & interpretation, skilled in training and relationship building. The patience to impart knowledge of internal compliance policies and training of staff, is crucial.
This newly created 3-days-a-week role within a private education sector, has key benefits for better work/life balance. The Officer will be assisting and working collaboratively with Senior Leadership and stakeholders to ensure all compliance risks are identified, current policies and effective controls are in place. The position is essentially responsible for the compliance management, development, adherence, and improvements of business compliance projects across the School.
Accountable to the Principal and taking directives from the Business Manager, the Compliance Officer assists the Business Manager to ensure all business operations and projects will meet compliance statutory standards in IT Infrastructure, Policies and Compliance, Controls and Monitoring, staff’s mandatory compliance training and WH&S responsibilities.
Other key responsibilities include:
· Ability to manage and develop the sound integrity of the business compliance programs, systems, processes, policies, and procedures.
· Ensuring all business compliance standards are meeting audit requirements and all legal statutory governmental standards in South Australia.
· Maintaining a compliance calendar and coordinating with relevant stakeholders to ensure these obligations are met.
· Managing mandatory compliance training for staff and Work Health and Safety responsibilities as guided by implemented policies.
· Develop IT infrastructure for policy and learning management (currently CompliSpace) and find efficiencies within the current systems to improve controls.
Applicants must be proficient in IT and security knowledge and Microsoft Suite literacy.
Mandatory Certificates must be current or obtained prior to employment for Mandatory Notification, Working with Children Check (WWCC) and Senior First Aid in an educational setting. Future renewal will be provided by the school, and relevant training and professional development.
The role provides significant flexibility across school holidays (working 43 weeks of the year). In addition to this, a 17.5% annual leave loading is paid at the end of each calendar year.
